Research Briefs

Short, definitional announcements. Each Research Brief states one concept precisely - a model family, a class, a primitive - with where it is specified, scored and shipped.

A Brief is the article form of the research record: short enough to read in minutes, canonical enough to cite. The papers argue; the Briefs declare.

Introducing TARG

Tandem Agent Runtime Guardianship: governance built into the runtime — six stages on every operation, budgets, an audit record, and refusals the intelligence itself can see.

Introducing the Orchestration Graph

A conversation history remembers words; an orchestration graph remembers work. The persistent record of coordination — visible in the Studio’s Work view, exportable as an A2F .orch trace.

Introducing Conductor

The transfer of intent, state, dependencies, permissions, memory, policy and execution across an intelligent environment — how an instruction becomes coordinated work.

Research Briefs

Introducing Structs

Language models reason through language; orchestration must reason through systems. SRS, OLS and OCS — the reasoning, learning and control structures of the orchestration layer.

Introducing IPI

The Interactive Programming Interface: a closed action loop — Observe, Reference, Act, Verify, Update — through which intelligence acts on an environment and proves the action landed. The first generation runs in LabsAI Studio.

Introducing OPI

The Orchestration Programming Interface: the AI Orch lifecycle made callable — create, delegate, parallelize, pause, resume, fork, observe, reconcile, terminate. An Octra predicts orchestration; the OPI expresses it; the AI Orch executes it.

Introducing PAP

The Parallel Agent Protocol: where HTTP requests documents, PAP invokes agent computation. Parallel names parallel intelligences, never concurrency — PAP enables parallel agents; OPI determines parallel execution.

Introducing IPS

An Interactive Perspective Sphere is the sphere of generative capability a person steps into - prompts orchestrated rather than typed, driven first by speech: STA carries the instruments, STO the orchestration, and the interface arrives as a reflection of the conversation.

Introducing Actras & Octras

An Actra converts speech and world state into action; an Octra converts objective and resources into orchestration policy - to action and coordination what the GPT was to language. The family presentation: capabilities, recorded demonstrations, the Actra and Octra Scores on IIB-1, and the LAIMA forms - with every unreleased rung marked as what it is.

Introducing STA & STO

Speech-to-text made machines hear; STA and STO make them do. STA decides what the surface does; STO decides which intelligence does it - the two model classes of a spoken system that acts, stated with where each is specified and scored.

Introducing GAT & GOT

What GPT named for generative language, GAT names for generative action and GOT for generated coordination. Actras are the Labs GAT family; Octras the Labs GOT family - and why the T is Transducer, not Transformer.

Introducing AI Orchs & Orch Models

Models reason. Agents act. Orchs coordinate. An AI Orch is the executable coordination object that binds models, agents, tools, workflows, memory, policies, data and compute into one live operation - and an Orch Model is the intelligence that produces and governs it.

Join the research. Build frontier intelligences.

Labsintelligence is lab1 of Labs. We are a small research group working on speech‑to‑action, orchestration intelligence — speech‑to‑orchestration (STO) — and the interfaces that make both legible to a person.
